An Effective Spin Approach to Paramagnetic Scattering in Frustrated Magnets

Frustrated magnetic systems exhibit exotic behaviour in the low-temperature regime. In this work we recast a previously developed semiclassical mean-field approach to paramagnetic
neutron-scattering in such frustrated magnets in terms of effective spins and sublattice-specific (local) g tensors.
Comparison with previously calculated cross sections and experimental data is encouraging our approach which then is employed in a first attempt to explain the scattering cross sections observed for the ytterbium titanate (Yb2 Ti2 O7) pyrochlore.
